Mallorca Beach
Cala Major is the beach closest to the west end of Palma. It's confusing to be able to find the road . . . but it's a good beach when you get there because most people go further afield and this one is difficult to find. Not far from the beach is the estate of the Palacio Marivent which is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family, who frequently make an appearance on the island.
Cala Mondrago has two sandy coves with brilliant crystal clear water. Park your car at the first smaller cove and walk round the corner to the second. It's larger, backed by sand dunes and has a small beach bar for refreshments.

La Boveda - This is often recommended as the place to go for the best tapas in Palma. Open for lunch and dinner with a pleasant patio.
Caballito de Mar - Great seafood restaurant in modern and stylish surrounds. Lively and busy outdoor terrace.
Giovanni's - Popular and lively Italian in the heart of La Llotja. Good pizza and pastas.
